Hehe, it's a bit manic my way at the moment, I've been getting everything sorted for my trip to South Africa at the end of the month, which is mostly exciting, except for travel vaccinations! I've still got two more Rabies shots to go, and MAN do they hurt! I must really want to go to SA to see the chimpanzees! I've ordered a couple of books to read on the flight over. Should keep me amused. www.amazon.com/Show-Dog-Charmed-Near-Perfect-Purebred/dp/006202048X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338679894&sr=8-1www.amazon.com/The-Song-Ape-Understanding-Chimpanzees/dp/0312563116/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338679913&sr=8-1I'm considering changing my uni degree from Animal Behaviour to Biodiversity and Conservation. I can choose to do all the same topics, except that I can choose something else instead of Chemistry (which would be a Godsend). I've asked the zoo and they said any science degree would be considered, but anything specific to animals or conservation would score me extra points if I was applying to be a zookeeper, so I think I'm on the right track whichever I choose. Lots of uni work to do, including oral presentations which I hate with a passion. Yuck.

Oh man...only the thrill of travel could get me to accept ANY more shots EVER again, if I absolutely had to. I swear I'm a trypanophobe...they needed at least three doctors to hold me still as a kid, and I've never become okay with the idea of vaccines. There has GOT to be a better way...just find a way to make it effective when taken orally, or invent the hypospray already...! I'm sure the chimps will make all the suffering worthwhile, though...you'll forget all about it. That looks like some terrific and interesting reading material. I haven't seen those two titles, but I have read very similar ones. I actually read through the preview pages on Amazon...the author of the show dog book has a rather interesting take on the canine mating ritual, and I agree with it. ;D Ew...oral presentations were never favorites of mine, either. Too often they didn't go as well as expected. Okay, I'm so jealous of those choices of major! Biodiversity and Conservation is a great subject, and seems closely enough related that you should be able to do what you want--without needing chemistry! Whoot! If it hadn't been for my fun teacher and class, that subject would have been a lot more miserable for me, too! It was interesting, but got hard as heck, especially when we got to the stoichiometry, balancing chemical reactions and all. Sounds as though you are on the right track, then. My little brother just applied to college today; I'm not sure which major specifically he chose, but I think it's related to computer engineering. He had three very similar choices, but I dunno, apparently a lot of programs are focused on software while he wants hardware...anyways, it seems he may need chemistry, too. Hah. Don't think I'll be of too much help there.
