I stumbled across the silken windhound whilst surfing the net and I really like the look of these guys! ;D Like a borzoi but smaller, the sort of dog that would be perfect for me and my situation (and my mum's tall dog issues). I has terribly upset to discover that there are none in Australia. None at all. Not one. I really have to move to America one day, or at least go on an 'interesting-dog-breed-spotting' holiday there!

NONE?! They're the very definition of an extremely rare breed, but still...not a one? I'm very surprised by that as well. =[ They are wicked gorgeous, a rather convenient size, and must have awesome temperaments. I've never yet had the honor of meeting one.
Heh, I'll be delighted to show you around and join the breed-spotting quest when you get here! ^^ 'Course, I can't wait for an Australian vacation. 8]

I expected them to be very, very rare, maybe only one or two breeders- I was very disappointed when I discovered that it wasn't the case. Even if I'm after a more common sighthound breed such as a saluki or borzoi I will probably have to get a pup from interstate. The only breeds that are easy to come by are whippets and (retired) greyhounds
