Bella had a wee escape this morning! She's worked out how to open the gate (which I am in the process of finding a way of making more secure). I looked out the window at the front of the house to see her stroll past- giving me quite a fright. She came in straight away when called thankfully, but was panting, I think she had a bit of a run at the park a few houses away before coming home. I'm so relieved she came home safe and sound, so, so scary! She also dug a nice big hole in the garden today, cheeky little monkey!

OMG, that is frightening!! Especially since she can actually open the gate herself...in my case, it was left open by some foolish human that one time when Ulla and Rusty strolled off for a walk by themselves and then actually came home before anyone here realized what had gone on. Hope you can find a way to get it nice and secure. Good for our girls, though, knowing to return to us!! My, how independent-minded they are, though. =p I had to use a board of wood and a log earlier today to block a hole that Jack's busy digging under the fence, in an attempt to get back into the neighbor's yard to play with Lady Belle the terrier. He keeps finding weak spots near the bottom of the fence and getting onto the other side. Hopefully I've just stopped up his last point of possible escape...

I've ordered Bella a snood now. I'm looking into getting her a new winter coat as well as she's not a fan of the colder weather. Hopefully we'll be going to a show next weekend to meet some lovely Saluki people- yay!

Yay! =D Lesley is supposed to message me again this week about her newly made ones, but I'm thinking about buying her awesome fuzzy orange one...and maybe a second from a nice site I found online. The pantyhose didn't work out so hot. XD Hope you find a nice coat for her, too--definitely worth having one of those. (Although sometimes, kinda funnily, we think Ulla prefers colder weather over hotter!) Ooh, splendid; I well remember my first time doing that. Have fun at the show--both of yas!!

Gosh, I've not been active on here for ages! Sorry about that. Anyhow, I though I'd embarrass Bella by sharing a snood photo! ;D She's actually got two now, this is the one from Lesley. image hostShe's got a winter coat coming her way as well, I'll have to post a piccy when that arrives as well. It's red, the colour looks most fabulous on her, she now has a lovely red tag collar as well. I've ordered Bella a Thundershirt to help with her separation problems, usually she's fine (she's improved sooooooo much), but she got quite stressed while she was on her holiday and cried an awful lot and was very clingy, so I'm hoping it'll help her settle a bit easier next time she goes over to stay.

Bella and I will be making our show debut (sort of, Bella entered a couple of Baby Puppy classes before she came to me, she came second to her sister, Cali) very soon! I'm terribly excited, Bella will be having her good friend Elvis accompany her, so hopefully that'll help her be comfortable with it all, and the venue is also the place where we go to training so it'll be just like a giant show training class. Our first shows are on the 26th and 27th of May, I'll be sure to take lots of photos. Here's a couple of pictures of Bella posing for me. Since these were taken I've worked out how to get her not to look right up. I think her main problem will be standing still in a show environment- she always fidgets like you don't know what at classes, but outside of lessons (at home, on walks etc.) she stands perfectly still like a little angel! She is very good at gaiting nicely though. Front a bit too far in this one.... Oh well, we're not supposed to be professionals yet! adult image hosting

Oh, Bels, don't you look spiffy in that sparkly snood!!! +D I wish her luck with the Thundershirt...hope it helps! I bought one for Rusty, but can't give an honest assessment, because it's been lost somewhere in the bed of my dad's pickup truck for quite a while. :/ He hasn't used it all that much yet. I found it very tricky to get on, though. And hopefully the coat will be a good, warm, cozy fit. :33 I'm sure Bell looks fabulous in reds, and pinks. I had finally gotten rid of the receipt for Ulla's green coat just a couple of days before deciding that I had, indeed, gotten a size or two too small (even though I know I got the XL, meaning that the things are cut TINY and aimed at smaller dogs.) So, I'll keep it as an early spring/early fall parka, since we've now come into possession of the PERFECT winter coat. Oooh, how exciting!! Best of luck, and I do hope you both enjoy the shows!! You're looking really good together. Ulla's main issue is that when she's being stacked, she tends to roach her back and lower her head; I have to really hold her head up. She'll also try to leave the ring before we're done on occasion. Gaiting is her strong point, too. ^^ So we have some big announcements as well. Over the past couple of weeks, we've had 6 separate shows in three different states, and while we added a bunch more ribbons (and even a $10 check) to our fine collection of 'show booty,' it was the show on May 3 that stood out most, because she finally earned the last of her needed points! She's a Champion! Whoohoo! Speaking of sparkly new snoods...! Her new super-warm, super-beautiful, fleece-lined, floral-print, earth-tone, blanket-like, thick, embroidered tapestry-style coat---one of several generous gifts from our good friend Bob! 3 gorgeous collars Bob also gifted us: red & gold; another, thicker and even fancier green & purple; and a shaggy teal "feather boa" one. I wore my royal blue feather earrings to the next show so that we'd both have feathered ears. ;3 The Queen of Sheba wearing the shaggy boa one! She made herself at home straight away in her breeders' over-garage apartment where we stayed...frankly, I was more than ready to move in permanently, myself. 'Tis a Saluki-embellished wonderland. Goldlilocks (Reddilocks?) there tried out just about every piece of furniture in the place... I absolutely adore the butler!!! X-3 Boy, howdy...all this victory calls for some extra-special treats and activities with which to celebrate her coming birthday...the usual toys, perhaps another recipe? Frozen treats? Lure coursing, even? May truly is her month! A few of the other piccies:

OMG- Wow!!! Congrats on Ullie's Championship, you must be over the moon! Well done beautiful Ulla, it is certainly well deserved! ;D ;D ;D I love the show photos, looks like you had a heap of fun. Ulla's new coat is just stunning- I WANT one! (Do you know if you can order them?) ;D That'll certainly keep her nice and warm and snuggly. Your friend Bob is so kind, what beautiful gifts! I love the funky feather boa collar, very swish. I don't blame you wanting to move in at Ullie's breeder's place, it looks VERY nice, and it sure looks like Ulla made herself quite comfortable. Soooo many lovely Saluki things, the butler is especially cool. I'd love my house to look something like that one day! I'm so happy for you and Ulla, well done! Give her a congratulatory hug from me.

I am SOOOOOO ecstatic!!! Thrilled and very proud. I knew we'd get there eventually...and now my first champ has finished! ^W^ Thank you!! It's been a pretty big blast indeed. Hehehehe! I'll have to ask Bob about the coat. He is an incredibly generous guy. I believe what happened was that a Garden State Saluki Club member passed away, and he came into possession of her large collection of coats and collars. So when he saw that Ullie needed some new things, he went through and found her the perfect ones. Bob's also accumulated quite a lot of his own supplies, too, so he's always helping us out...we're so lucky. I still haven't found the perfect lead, but someday I will (that's one thing he can't donate to us because his dog--Ulla's brother Jack--is black, and we like the leads to match the dog's coat as much as possible.) I'm not sure where the coat originally came from, but he MIGHT be able to tell us. Lol, I wish I still had MY feather boas. That collar was such an awesome surprise. He was like, "Close your eyes! You are gonna LOVE this, it's so you!" xD Oh, yes, the apartment is amazingly beautiful. Their decorating taste is quite eclectic, like mine, and cool--a lot of Asian influence, Salukis EVERYWHERE, giraffes because Carol loves them, fishing stuff because Alan is really into it, etc. I will definitely give her another hug from you. Wowsa! Posh Pawz makes some seriously swanky sighthound swag! XDD Nice. I really like the one you're looking at ordering! Seems as though it'd be very comfy and warm, too. Which color, you think?

I'll probably go for one of the leopard print ones, not sure if I'll go black or cream though, I can't work out which would most suit Bella. A My Little Pony coat will also be happening, when my very kind volunteer coat-maker has time.

Oooh, can never go wrong with wild animal print. Well, almost never. And Bella could make just about anything look good, anyway. ;D Hmmmm....black or cream...*tries to picture them on her* For a grizzle, either would work very well, but I think I would lean towards the cream myself. *gasp* You found someone willing to make the pony coats?! *squees* Omgosh, that's excitingly awesome. Can't wait. If s/he ever has the time to make more, I would be willing to buy one.

I found pictures of a grizzle in both colour coat, I think the black looked nicer, but still not quite decided! I'll have to ask her if she's keen to do a second one (or a third- Arya might be getting one once she's stopped growing!)

=) I'm sure whichever one you end up going with will look splendid.
Ahaha, poor thing might have to start up a pony-coat business before she knows it. ^^;;
Yeah, she does have a similar build. I don't think we got anything that time, actually, although Ullie looked good and showed well. Don't recall who got chosen...could have been that one...:]
