This must be a hound thing, because Ulla and Jack have been known to carry individual kibbles somewhere else (into another room, onto a bed or blanket or carpet, etc.) to be eaten, and then return for more...repeatedly. It's too funny. Almost as if they find it more comfortable to eat somewhere other than in front of the bowls, and don't mind making multiple trips. o.O Hey, I may not fully understand it, but at least it's a bit of exercise, I guess. *lol* I think Rusty may have done it a few times, but not nearly as much as the other two. He just can't be bothered to waste any time bolting it all down...=/
Ulla's other favorite eating habit is lying down on the carpet in front of the non-elevated bowl in the dining room--might as well be as comfy as possible, right?

Maybe wolfing food down is a gundog thing, Tiggy was never one to hang around eating in the most dainty manner she could muster! Funny hounds with their funny eating behaviour, it does mean that we do end up with discarded bits of dog food all over the place every now and then!

It just might be! Rust’s the first gundog I’ve had. (Actually, the two groups I still need to represent are Non-Sporting and Terrier…no doubt I’ll fix that starting with a Poodle and Bedlington. X3)
I always have to do some cleaning, too. Jack insists on spilling the food out of his bowl before eating. (What gives, dummy?! You make a mess, get pieces stuck underneath the placemat, and then spill water as you try to flip the mat up to get at them! What is the point??) And the boys make huge messes on the kitchen floor in their haste to devour the Fresh Pet, and then they actually leave pieces on the floor and head back to the counter to see whether they might be getting any more. Jack seems to have a very poor nose for a Beagle. I always have to point things out even when they’re right in front of him, because he’s sniffing around and not finding them.
