That's lovely! It sounds like Aladdin is loving having a new brother.

Oh, she's so irresistible. ;3 The pouncing and playing and whipping her head around to spot the object after staring in another direction for several seconds, thinking it went that-a-way...I recognize these antics. XD The oval is a rather fortunate spot to have nearby. And Salukers do tend to adore the beach, don't they? Must be all the sand. Ulla's a big sand fan. I bought her a 26-foot retractable leash, which is the longest line I could find, so she can really have some freedom wherever we go. (Just got back from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee--she had a blast! Actually managed to yank the leash right out of my busy hands a couple times, but luckily we were in pretty isolated territory. And she's gotten pretty easy to recall, or at least, stop or slow down in her tracks long enough to get to her. She seems more confused than anything when that happens, really--almost like, "Wow, did we really get separated? How odd. Whoopsie!") D'awww!! It's too cute how dogs bond with one another. Ulla and Rusty have their differences, but when it comes down to it, they always have one another's backs, and look out for each other. They can often be found following each other, hanging out together, and looking to make sure the other is coming, too, before heading back inside. Ulla's the devious one who will pretend to want to go out, knowing Rust will charge blindly every time the door opens, in order to steal his place on the couch. Everything he does, on the other hand, is done in total honesty; if he were a person, he'd be the type who couldn't tell a lie. Still, they're buds, and their loyal friendship (though I can never quite tell exactly how to parallel their relationship--brother/sister? Friends? Boyfriend/girlfriend? Sometimes it seems to vary, lol) helped avert a potential tragedy when someone left our gate open. The two of them went for a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood together, and by the time we even realized they were missing, they were right outside our fence again--apparently having pulled a Homeward Bound and decided to come back home. A woman living on one of the streets behind us had been trying to get them because she suspected they were ours, but they knew where they were going...

That is toooooo pretty a sight!! Ah, I wish we had a sighthound friend to come visit. That Saluki-parent couple I met last summer in the next town over must have become human baby-parents, too, after all, because I never heard from them. Either that or they lost my number. xD Ulla's not having such a nice time right now, unfortunately--Jack is starting to be driven really, really mad by her alluring aroma, and won't let her alone. DX Our vet's out of town until sometime next month, but he's got to get "snipped" ASAP...

Having sighthound friends to play with is certainly a lot of fun! Bella is very lucky to have two of them. Oh dear, poor Ulla having to put up with such a persistent unwanted suitor! I think Bella is also lucky that she won't have that problem! How old is Jack now?

She certainly is! They, like lure courses, are quite scarce 'round here. It's actually a really awkward love triangle as well as a sad tale of unrequited love, because usually when Ulla is interested, she wants Rusty (or humans ) more than Jack...and Rusty is typically only interested occasionally as a "quick fling." :/ Maybe she just doesn't go for short guys...whatever the case, they make for a very odd-looking threesome. And yes, there are definite advantages to being an "only dog." -.- Jack turned 1 on July 12, and boy, is he overcome with urges he doesn't really understand. It's odd and a tad awkward to see the tiny little "pocket Beagle" hyping himself up, following her step for step, chasing her around, and hugging his "auntie's" legs. D: Yeesh. Then he looks around for her and at the rest of us as if to say, "What? Am I being bad? I dunno why I'm doin' this, but I gotta!" Fortunately there's no need for us to worry about them making Saleagles or Beaglukis or whatever they'd be called. Hopefully it won't last foreeever and be followed up by yet another irritating false pregnancy, as so often happens with her!!

GHA brought over her newest foster girl, Katie to play with Bella yesterday. Bella was a bit nervous, but very excited at the same time to meet a new friend. Katie is so gorgeous, so friendly and very cute indeed.

Ohhh, how pretty Katie is!! Look at that coat! I love her black and white pattern/markings. :3 Reminds me of a mantle Great Dane. Oh, the prettiness of sighthounds! And the way Bella stands there whipping her tail around in a circle!! LOL! Ulla does the same thing, it's so funny! XD

I love the 'helicopter tail' as we call it! It must be a Saluki thing... it's so cute! Katie is so beautiful, I so wish I could adopt her, but my mother has said it's a definite 'No'. Bella liked Katie a LOT. Hopefully she'll be having another Greyhound playdate soon, it's nice for her to make more friends as she's so socially awkward.

Hehehe, yeah, I think they're trying to take off and fly, lol. Not that they don't practically fly already. `w` Awwwww...!! ^^;; It would be amazing to have two sighthounds. I hope she does get to make some more new friends soon. You seem to be in an area just swarming with beautiful dogs, so it should work out pretty nicely...!!
It can be a little tricky inviting new dogs over here since we never know what the reaction will be from either side (shyness, fear, some hostility?)--usually works out just fine, but our three hyper goons can easily be overwhelming (think Pinkie Pie's welcome wagon and "instant best friend" song times three)--although, Rusty also CAN occasionally decide to get a bit aggressive in defending his people and home.
And speaking of hyper, I've been being attacked left and right by Ulla for the past half-hour. -.- Yeah, I'm on the floor, so I guess I'm fair game, but auurrrgh! With the humping and jumping and the hopping up and down like a windup tap-dancing kangaroo-jackrabbit, and the claws and the way her eyes go black and wild, as if she's possessed by a demon...she either wants to get freaky on you, or play "Attack the Hands" or "Attack the Feet" with her crazy biting, nibbling teeth. And all the while Jack (acting like he's on crack) is huffing and puffing and hot on her heels at every moment, sniffing and jumping up and harassing and badgering her, & generally going nuts on us. It's. In. Sane. V__V I am looking forward to at least one, if not two, routine veterinary procedures...
