We've got a collar thread, so I'm making a coat thread to share information about coats to keep our hounds warm and toasty. Bella's got an indoor/pyjama coat coming in the mail, should be here any day(!) but I'm also looking into getting her a more outdoorsy one. Bella's indoor coat was made by a breeder over here. Bella's outdoor coat will probably be the leopard print 'Luxurious Winter Coat', but I really like the look of the 'Jeans Coat' as well. (They make fab collars as well!) www.jawharah.wz.cz/wintercoat.htmlThese companies also looks really good: www.bwdogcoats.com/index.htmlwww.chillydogs.ca/index.php/productswww.houndtogs.com/

Elvis got a snazzy new waterproof coat, from www.dishlickercoats.comAn Australian made coat. With his name (with a heart) embroidered on the side.

It's nice that he's got a waterproof one, if he's anything like Bella he won't like getting his hair wet! Those ones look nice and affordable too! Probably be too big for Bella unfortunately. Just right for Elvis though!

Ooh, I've seen Hound Togs before. The Chilly Dogs site isn't working for me, for some reason. So much loveliness in the others, though! Ulla doesn't really wear anything in the house, the little nudist--though if she got really cold, I'd put on her green lighter coat (the one I decided was a bit small, after all, and was originally going to be her new primary coat until it paled in comparison with the superb one I got from Bob!) That "sport parka" came from "In the Company of Dogs," and is made by another company called Cloak & Dawggie. ;D It's a well-made product and quite comfortable, although the sizes obviously run very small. (I could imagine Rusty needing their 3X!) It comes in several vivid colors, too. Actually, I'm waiting for an updated coupon to show up online for ICOD so that I can replace the bed Jack soaked with pee and destroyed, with this one (modeled by a goooorgeous Silken Windhound!): www.inthecompanyofdogs.com/itemdy00.asp?ID=17,470&GEN1=Dog+Beds%2c+Blankets+%26+Mats&T1=DJ1211+BK+S&dispRow=0&srccode= ...in pink chenille, for Ullie. So, anyway. I've always gotten my coats from general pet supply companies/stores, but in the future I'll probably turn to these coat- and sighthound-specific little shops. I may never know who made Ulla's winter one, unfortunately, but it's just the type I'd get again! Well, you can never go wrong with leopard print! I really like the "jean" and fleece designs, especially in orange.

Oh, MY! All set for a pajama party! It looks so soft and fleecy and perfect. Love the vibrant red, and those fringes! And that SNOOD! Stay snug, Bella...you could be a model for ICOD or any other canine company, you know.

The little monkey's broken the tie on her pyjamas! I believe it was a result of over-enthusiastic play with Elvis. It's a good thing she's getting new jammies made next weekend!

Oh, dear! =[ Sounds as though somepuppy ought to play in the nude, lol. Ulla went into heat again last weekend, so she's feeling pretty "blah" and lethargic, and a bit huggier than usual...pretty darn cute stuff--even the standing up at the counter, putting her forelegs around your shoulders, and sticking her nose towards a plate. (But that also includes leg-huggy, if ya know what I mean...! For whatever reason, when I give them Fresh Pet brand food, she immediately starts getting humpy on me afterward...I dunno if it's some kind of weird "thank you" or what!) The first sign was her utter refusal to go for a walk one afternoon, even though Jack was already a ways down the dirt road she likes so much. She did the typical digging her feet into the ground, lowering her head, and not budging. She went later, though, and I realized then that she would love pet chickens as much I would. She was fascinated by a coopful of them down the road and seemed to want to go pull a Tramp and "stir 'em up a bit!" Lol, maybe the county fair's no-pet policy was a little wiser than I thought. Maybe I'll be able to get her spayed eventually (and everyone else here would be pleased if I could), long as the breeders don't intend to breed her (and I don't think they do, they don't seem to be doing very much of it anymore) and if we don't do much more than a few future shows...I dunno. I'd love to enter Westminster, just so I could say we competed there, even though we almost certainly wouldn't get on TV. xD

Aah, poor Ulla! It doesn't sound much fun this being in season lark! Bella is, as yet, not the humpy type, I wonder if that will change when she comes into season. I'm undecided whether or not to get some bitches britches in, or whether to just let her clean herself up, as she tends to self-groom a lot anyway. We have hard floors as well so shouldn't need to do too much cleaning up. Do you have a lot of neuter shows in the US? They're becoming a lot more common here I think. Westminster would be very cool, are there any specific requirements for entering? I probably will have Bella spayed one day, but not for a long time, she's still got her Australian Championship to finish, and I might try for a UK one as well- time will tell. Back on coats... All seems set for having a pyjama-making couple of days this weekend, which will be nice as Bella's been wearing her outdoor coat to bed since she broke her PJs. We've been having quite wild weather!
