Name: Bella, registered as Baghdad Cool Coquette

Nicknames: Bel, Grizabella, Stinkerbel (when she needs a bath!), Bel-bel, La-la

Breed: Saluki

D.O.B.: 14/01/11

Background: Bella's from an unplanned litter, her dam is Mirah (Baghdad Arabian Princess) and her sire is Aladdin (Ch. Baghdad Arabian Night). She came to me at 5 and a half months old, after previous homes fell through. I am very thankful to her breeders (and co-owners) for entrusting Bella into my care, she is such a joy and I love her to bits. Bella is my first Saluki, I expect she will be the first of many!

Personality: Bella loves to be centre of attention and loves meeting new people. She gets very attached to her favourite people and can be rather clingy. She's a great cuddler, and hates being left out of any hug. If she's not happy about something, Bella makes sure everyone knows about it, she is a very vocal complainer! Bella loves playing with her canine friends, especially fellow sighthounds Elvis the Greyhound and Arya the Borzoi.

Name: Ulla; full name is Tallulah Inga Ilsa Tara Lucille, registered name is Copper Crest

Lady in Red

Nicknames: Ullie, Ulla-la, Ulla-Belle, Tallulah Barkhead, Ulla Beulah (Beulah being a contraction of "Beautiful Ulla," lol...or Hula, Lula, Medulla, Toola Roola, basically anything that rhymes, except for "Fool" ;~)...etc. I've given her many a nickname over time. x3

Breed: Saluki

D.O.B.: May 22, 2006 (Gemini!)

Background: Ulla's sire is Sage (Copper Crest Autumn Sage) and her dam is Tara (Copper Crest Altaira.) I first met her and her siblings at a post-show meeting when I was searching for a Saluki. That was when I met her breeders as well. Later that year, I wound up visiting them and choosing her, and brought her home on September 30, when she was a little over four months old. Her two breeders and co-owners as well as their friend have become very good friends of mine, and I can't thank them enough for giving me my beloved "dogter" and best friend---she's kinda like a friend, sister, & child all rolled into one. She's my first Saluki, my first "dog of my very own," my dream dog...and I too know that this will only be the first of many 'lukis and sighthounds for me! Life with this noble creature is much more of an adventure than it would be otherwise, and I'm consistently reminded of how very lucky I am to be hers. Oh, and of course, we've been showing her for the past several years, which finally culminated in a Championship on May 4, 2012. (Her next goal: Become six-time national Champion! J/k, Ull...)

Personality: Although she enjoys her personal space and alone time and doesn't need to be in constant contact with people, Ulla is loving and affectionate (and a wonderful kisser), never failing to get up and rush to the door whenever I come back home. She wanders around every so often, checking to make sure everyone is where she thinks they ought to be.
Generally respectful and careful of our stuff, she moves in a catlike way, and we don't usually have to worry about her destroying things--or at least, until her mischievous, curious streak comes out. Most often she's very laid-back and chill, but at times she can become quite pushy, teasing, sneaky, or just plain hyper and crazy! She's bright, clever (perhaps too much so for her own good?), quirky, typically good-natured & playful, and friendly, though she does have a bit of a superior attitude. xD Ulla is a loyal, devoted friend and playmate to me, my family, and of course to her canine compadre Rusty, "nephew" Jack, and best gal pal, Lady Belle (the little Jack Russell mix next door!) She can be incredibly stubborn and at times indecisive (like mother, like dogter, I suppose! We have a lot in common), and her worst habit is whining!

Ooooh, I love the archive profile. I guess that's something that the breeders add? There are four Copper Crest dogs recorded in there, born between 1988 and 1995. Wow, it's awesome to look at the pedigrees and see all of the ancestors going back through the decades, including the really well-known kennel names (e.g., Srinagar, Burydown, etc.) I recognize a LOT of the photos from "The Saluki in Art, History, & Sport"...wow, wow, awesome.

Bella's breeders added her to the archive. I've had a lot of fun looking at all the beautiful dogs in Bel's pedigree, going waaaay back. ;D

Oh, I see. I wonder whether Ulla's intend to ever add the rest of their dogs. Either way, there are enough in there that you can see a really good family history, which is just so cool!!
